OUR STORY
We Started to Do Fire Safety Properly
SR Passive Fire was founded because we were tired of seeing fire safety treated as an afterthought. Too many installs were rushed, paperwork went missing, and no one wanted to take responsibility. We knew there had to be a better way.
We built a company that takes fire protection seriously from day one. Every job is completed properly, backed by the right documentation, and handed over in a way that gives our clients confidence, not questions.
What truly sets us apart is our team. We’re more than colleagues; we hold ourselves to high standards, support each other on site, and make sure our clients feel that same support. That’s why leading contractors choose us, and why they keep coming back.
S.R PASSIVE FIRE LIMITED
OUR SERVICES
We cover every key area of passive fire protection from start to finish.
Penetration Sealings
When service penetrations are left open or sealed incorrectly, inspection failures and rework are almost guaranteed. We seal every tray, cable, and pipe opening with certified fire-stopping systems, installed to the manufacturer's specifications and backed by photographic documentation.
Intumescent Coating
Before steel is enclosed or exposed to the elements, fire-resistant coatings must be correctly applied and verified. We protect steel, timber, and concrete with intumescent coatings that meet tested fire ratings. Every application is measured for accuracy, fully recorded, and ready for inspection.
Fire & Smoke Barriers
Unprotected gaps in walls or ceilings can allow smoke and fire to spread rapidly through a building. Our team installs certified cavity barriers that seal these concealed spaces, helping to contain fire and protect escape routes. Every installation is fully documented and included in your handover for complete compliance.
Structural Encasement Systems
Fire-rated boarding is only effective if installed right. We apply tested systems to beams, Columns and soffits, detailing the entire system with full documentation, so nothing gets flagged at sign-off.
Compartmentation Survey
We also carry out Fire Compartment surveys, inspecting walls, floors, and ceilings to identify early and help you pass inspection without disruption.

FAQ
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What standards do your installs meet?
We install systems that are tested to BS EN Standards, and comply with Approved Document B.
How will passive fire protection affect my project schedule?
Our aim is to keep you ahead of deadlines. With over 40 years of experience, we plan and deliver installations efficiently, helping you avoid costly rework or inspection delays.
What is passive fire protection?
Passive fire protection (PFP) refers to the use of fire-resistant materials and systems that are built into a structure to slow the spread of fire and smoke. Unlike active systems (such as sprinklers), PFP works automatically once installed, no activation is required.
Why do I need passive fire protection on my project?
Building regulations and fire strategies require compliant fire protection to safeguard people, property and assets. Without it, you risk failed inspections, project delays, and non-compliance with legal standards.
How do you prove your work is compliant?
Every install is photographed, logged, and certified with full traceability. We provide detailed documentation that shows exactly what was installed, where, and when, so you have a clear record for inspections and handover.
Do gaps smaller than 40mm need to be sealed?
Yes. It is a misconception that gaps under 40mm do not require sealing. All openings, regardless of size, must be correctly sealed in accordance with the manufacturer’s tested data to ensure compliance and fire safety.
