SR Passive Fire was founded on a simple principle: fire protection must never be an afterthought. Rushed work and missing documentation were far too common, so we set out to do better.
From creating the foundations of SR, Sam now entrusts his management team to deliver the values and ethics SR was created with, he now focuses on the commercial growth of the business while remaining supportive with clients.
With a strong background in Quality Assurance, Joshua now leads our technical operations, he ensures all site work meets compliance standards and ensures a high standard of quality work is delivered across all our projects.
After graduating, Lily found a pivotal role within S.R keeping everything running behind the scenes. She is responsible for ensuring staff records including health and safety, training and documentation are all up to date.
Phil brings a wealth of industry experience and plays a key role in ensuring our projects run smoothly, from programmes to site coordination, he keeps operations on track and clients updated.
SR Passive Fire Protection was founded in 2020 with a simple conviction: passive fire protection deserves better. Too many projects were treating it as an afterthought, bolted on at the end of the programme, poorly documented and delivered by contractors with no real accountability for the work they left behind. We set out to change that.
With over 40 years of combined experience across firestopping, intumescent coatings, compartmentation, structural encasement and cavity barrier installation, our team has delivered certified passive fire protection on some of the UK’s most complex and demanding construction projects. From our base in Mansfield, we have grown into a trusted national contractor for main contractors, developers and building owners; not through aggressive expansion, but by doing the work properly, documenting it thoroughly and delivering on our commitments every single time.
That approach has turned first-time clients into long-term partners. It has also shaped the kind of business we are building, one that welcomes the higher standards introduced by the Building Safety Act, Gateway sign-offs and Regulation 38, because those standards are exactly what we have been working to from the start. We are not here to meet the minimum. We are here to set the standard.
Quality Without Compromise: Every installation we carry out meets the manufacturer’s tested specifications, with no shortcuts and complete documentation. Our FIRAS certification is not a badge, it reflects a genuine commitment to independent verification, continuous improvement and a level of accountability that our clients can rely on.
Programme-Aware Delivery: We understand the realities of live construction sites. We coordinate with other trades, adapt to programme changes and manage our work to keep fire protection off the critical path. Our clients do not have to chase us. We communicate proactively, flag issues early and deliver within the programme we commit to.
People First: We have built a business where our people take pride in their craft, where accountability is a daily practice and where every member of the team understands that the work we do matters. Our operatives are consistently recognised by clients as professional, easy to work with and a credit to the sites they work on. We take that reputation seriously; it is earned every day, not assumed.
Our operatives are trained directly by the manufacturers whose products we install, including Rockwool, Quelfire, Nullifire, Protecta and Promat. Every team member holds relevant qualifications in the installation of passive fire protection systems, and our leadership team brings qualifications including NVQ Level 6, IFE Level 2, FSIDip and ICORR certification, backed by over a decade of experience in technical direction, commercial management and operational delivery at the highest level.
Every site has a dedicated supervisor or site manager to ensure consistent quality, clear communication with your project team and immediate accountability for the work being carried out. We do not send operatives to site and hope for the best. We are hands-on, present and always available when you need us.
That level of engagement is not an add-on, it is fundamental to how we operate. It is the reason our clients choose to work with us again and again, and it is the reason we have built lasting relationships with some of the UK’s most respected construction firms. We treat every project as an opportunity to demonstrate why that trust is deserved.
When you work with SR Passive Fire, you get a partner who cares about your project as much as you do. We will engage early to plan the works properly. We will install certified systems to tested specifications. We will document everything with photographic evidence and full traceability. We will hand over records that give you, your client and building control complete confidence in the fire protection we have provided.
This commitment is built into every project we deliver and will continue into every project we take on.
